The Colosseum and Caesar's Palace became her second home, and it was estimated that Celine Dion was making nearly $500,000 per show, yes, that's right, half a million dollars per show. That means with 3-5 shows per week, Celine was making on average, $2 million per month, and that was during her earlier residency days. Celine Dion made her move over to Las Vegas back in 2003 when she signed a deal for a residency with Caesar's Palace. Celine's residency, which was called "A New Day", was an instant success and sold out every single show. At the end of her residency in 2019, Dion paid tribute to her late husband and manager, René Angélil, during the show in an emotional moment she shared on stage with their three children. As we mentioned above, Celine has been a Nevada resident for quite some time. She and her late husband purchased a home in Henderson in 2003, the same year her concert series A New Day first made its debut.
She subsequently had difficultly conceiving again naturally so she opted for in-vitro fertilization to assist her in the process. After six treatments of IVF, Celine Dion gave birth to twin boys, Eddy and Nelson Angélil, on October 23, 2010. The grandiose island property also features inlaid marble floors, a stone wine cellar with a tasting room, and a swimming pool. The elegant three-story estate even has views of the water from almost every room and a custom elevator to efficiently get from one floor to another. Dion put the property on the market in 2012 for $29.3 million and offered to include most of the residence’s ornate furnishings along with the sale.
On January 14, 2016, Celine Dion’s husband Rene, passed away after a long fight with throat cancer. Celine Marie Claudette Dion was born in Charlemagne, Canada on March 30, 1968. The youngest of 14 kids from a musical family, Celine had her breakout moment when she was 12. After composing and recording a song with the help of her mom and brother, Celine was discovered by manager, Rene Angelil. Having been sent her song by her brother, it is rumored the tape brought tears to his eyes and he mortgaged him home to bankroll her first album.

In addition to her success on the Vegas Strip, Celine Dion was one of the first of many iconic singers to start a residency. Since Celine, singers such as Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have all followed suit and had residencies of their own over the last decade. Considering how popular Celine Dion is, it's no surprise that she managed to spend 17 years performing in Vegas.
By 1988, Celine was well known in Quebec and had released a few French language albums. She released her first English language album in 1990, titled “Unison”, but her big American break came when she and Peabo Bryson recorded the Disney duet for the movie “Beauty and the Beast”. This was Celine’s first US hit to reach #1 and she won both a Grammy and an Academy Award for the song.
Celine has currently released 14 French language albums and 11 English language albums. She also has 5 Grammys, is the second best-selling female artist in the US and has countless other major music awards. Celine Dion’s signature song “My Heart will go on” was one of the best-selling singles of all time and she had millions of fans worldwide.
